Sidewalk Repair/Replacement Updates
March 4, 2024
As of March 4, 2024, repair work that is part of the City of Wyoming’s 2023-24 Sidewalk Reconstruction/Replacement Program has begun. This work includes replacing public sidewalk blocks that are raised, damaged, or with inadequate slope causing the compounding of water/mud. Additionally, minimal driveway apron replacements have been included when associated with pedestrian need. Priority is placed on removing sidewalk trip hazards. Through public bid, Ford Development Corp. was selected to perform the work. The area of the community covered by this project is known as ‘Target Area #4’, which covers the portion of Wyoming east of the midline of Springfield Pike, and north of the midlines of Walnut, Elm, and Cooper Avenues. This project has been funded through the City’s Capital Improvement Fund, with a total project budget of $200,000.00. Please note that a number of repairs have been deferred to a future project year in order to stay within the $200,000.00 budget (combined FY 2023 + FY 2024). Work is expected to continue through the end of April 2024.
